family Favs: our go-to recipes

Does everyone have a few recipes that are your tried-and-true, go-to family favorites? I've shared three in my Instagram stories this week and I want to share them here too, so you can file them and keep them. Today I'm sharing my recipes for Taco Soup, Pizza Chicken, and Rice Krispie Pork Chops.

For Taco Soup, you will need 2 pounds ground beef, 1 package taco seasoning, 1 package dry ranch seasoning, 2 cans corn, 2 cans Rotel, 2 cans black beans, 2 cans chili beans, shredded cheese, sour cream, and tortilla chips to garnish.

Brown your ground beef, drain and add both dry packets of seasoning. Add meat mixture to a stock pot and add all 8 cans to pot. Add some water to thin and stir well. Let simmer several hours. Serve with sour cream, shredded cheese, and chips on top. This will feed 10-12 people easily.

Next up is what my kids call Pizza Chicken. I take 6 chicken breasts, thinned or butterflied, in the bottom of a greased baking dish, and layer fresh sliced mozzarella, italian seasoning, salt & pepper, pepperonis and top with 1 jar marinara sauce. Bake this at 400 for 40 minutes and then cover with shredded cheese and pop it back in the over for another 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly.

This last recipe is a family favorite of my whole entire family. I shared it for the first time and I'm going to say it may be the next Stuffed Peppers for APStyle Sidekicks. (Don't know stuffed peppers? It's a blog post too. ) It's super easy. Take your porkchops, coat in real mayo, and drop in a ziploc of Rice Krispie cereal to coat. Lay them out on a greased baking sheet and bake at 400 for probably 30 minutes. Times vary based on thickness of chop. Just watch them and when they are deep golden brown, they should be good. We add kid-apporved sides to these and it's a WIN for family night!

I hope you enjoy these recipes, Sidekicks. I have several more recipes on this blog, so stick around a while and see what else you find. Happy Weekend!
